How to make Side Bar Buttons the easy way

I have made a small change to the blog.
Have you noticed?

There is something you should know:

I am a complete NITWIT with these things.
I just know the basics in Blogger. I know how to ad HTML Text in the gadgets/widgets.
So that is what you need to do this yourself, if you desire to
I love to change things up and design myself.
But for the life of me, I do not have the patience for Photoshop.
There is a much more professional way to get this I am sure!
But here is what I did.

I used Polyvore for the arrow and made a screen image with a bit of extra space white space around it. Because the background of my blog is white you do not see this.

Uploaded this image to PicMonkey.

In PicMonky I added  text.

Within the white margin I enlarged and placed the text.
Resized to 60x60 (measurement in PicMonkey) to fit within my margin of my blog.
I tried a lot of different measurements before I got it right….

Saved it and uploaded it to Photobucket.

Here I copied the HTML code.

This code I placed into my blog.
( my blogdesign part is in Dutch, Sorry!)

Copy the HTML into the  HTML text box in Layout- add a widget-HTML/Java Script and save.

At Snap I found a tutorial to center the widgets in your side bar.
Very Easy!! I could do it, so it is doable!

And  this is how it turned out:

There are more in my side bar, for now.
This was just an experiment that took me all day :-)
I have to find out what I really want and how to do them more like a pro.

In the process I lost "my" followers AND found them back again. I now have thousands of images in PhotoBucket that are pretty much the same. And  I have a husband who is warning me about sitting behind the computer for more then 5 hours at a time!

It was really fun to do this and find a way to do this. But I hope to get more comfy with this HTML stuff!
Hope you like and get it!

Here is another one :-)

  1. Wow, you've been busy! Love your results! =)

I'm a nitwit, too, so don't worry about it. Even you and me can figure these things out. I have to admit, I actually use powerpoint for most of my graphics. Embarrassing, right? We gotta be creative!
